Papa's Cupcakeria Holidays: How the Calendar Changes Every Order

Most Papa's games before Cupcakeria stayed the same all year. Cupcakeria added a calendar. As you work through the days, the months change, and every month has a holiday with its own toppings, decorations and customer favourites. It is the feature that makes the later days feel different from the early ones.

The twelve holidays

The game's list covers the whole year: Christmas, New Year, Valentine's Day, St. Paddy's Day, Easter, Onionfest, Summer Luau, Starlight Jubilee, Baseball Season, Pirate Bash, Halloween and Thanksgiving. Some are real-world holidays, and some belong to the Papa Louie towns. Baseball Season, for example, is about Frostfield's own team, the Frostfield Batters.

How a holiday changes the day

• New toppings. Each holiday brings its own set of toppings. They appear in the bins at the Build Station while the holiday runs.
• Different orders. Every customer has a favourite holiday. When it comes around, their order changes to include its toppings, so a regular you know by heart may suddenly ask for something new.
• Holiday furniture. The shop sells seasonal lobby items. Customers who love that holiday are happier waiting in a lobby decorated for it.

Unlocking them

You do not get every holiday on Day 1. New ones open up as you rank up, and each then comes around in its month. When a holiday unlocks, the game shows you its toppings. Take a second to look at where they sit in the bins before the first customer asks.

Getting ready for a new holiday

1. Read every ticket twice on the first day of a holiday. Orders you have seen twenty times may have changed.
2. Find the new toppings early. If you need to hunt for one in the middle of a rush, the waiting score is gone.
3. Keep your usual rhythm. Batter and bake times do not change for holidays, only the tops do. Keep the oven busy the same way you always do.

Badges and minigames

Many of Cupcakeria's badges come from the holidays: use all of a holiday's toppings, serve its fans, unlock all of them. Between days, Foodini's minigames (pachinko, skee-ball, pitching and others) hand out prizes, some of them furniture and clothes for your worker. None of this is needed to finish a day, but it gives the long game something to aim for.
